Dive for Sharks can become an event to make your diving center a shark conservation champion. You will offer your clients another reason to dive with you, and demonstrate how your center cares about conserving the marine environment.
Why it is important to sign the petition – Europe still fishes for vast amounts of endangered sharks every year and loopholes in the European ban on finning (the wasteful practice of slicing off shark fins and dumping the carcass overboard) make it among the weakest in the world.
This year the Shark Alliance is calling on the European Union to honour the promises made in its Plan of Action and is particularly urging Spain – the EU’s top shark fishing nation – to fish responsibly. We need to make our voice heard. Please, sign the petition!
